Australian by Nature Manuka Honey Active 16+ is sourced from high-density Manuka forests, Leptospermum scoparium, in New Zealand. It is a premium quality honey.

Manuka honey can be very difficult to collect due to the remote location of the forests. It is also very difficult to get 100 % pure Manuka. Other floral sources flower at the same time and can contaminate the honey. It is therefore very important that the honey is sourced from forest areas that have Manuka as the dominant species. Some Manuka producers use a pollen count to verify the purity of the honey. This can be inconclusive as some floral sources have very little pollen while others are prolific pollen producers. The bees can also move the pollen around the hive and affect the sample taken. The best way to assure the Manuka is of a high standard is to identify the forests from which it is sourced.
