L-Carnitine is an amino acid and the primary transporter of fat and
metabolism of fatty acids through the mitochondrial membrane where fat is
burned to produce energy. High levels of available L-Carnitine increase the
rate at which fat is burned.

Recommended Use
ADULTS: Take 5 to 15ml daily, as a source of L-Carnitine.
CHILDREN: Not recommended for children except on medical advice.
Precautions / Contra-indications
Generally, L-Carnitine is well tolerated when used within recommended dosage
limits.
Adult intakes of approximately 5 g/day (by an adult) may cause diarrhoea
or fish odour syndrome in some users.
Mode of Action
Balance Liquid Carnitine, is beta-hydroxy-gamma-N,N,N-trimethylaminobutyric acid, a
trimethylated amino acid, essential for the transport and transformation of
fatty acids into energy for muscular activity. This transformation, which
produces Coenzyme A, occurs in the mitochondria.
Most of the 1.2 micromoles of L-Carnitine per kg of body weight per day
are synthesized from the essential amino acids lysine and methionine with
Vitamin C, Vitamin B6, Niacin and Iron.
Only L-Carnitine is biologically active.
Supplementing with Balance Liquid Carnitine is frequently used for the
improvement of fat metabolism and muscular performance. In this situation it
should be discontinued for one week each month.
