The heart is one of the most active tissues in the body, and requires an adequate supply of CoQ10. CoQ10 assists in maintaining heart health, in particular heart muscle function. Research at the Baker Medical Institute in Melbourne has shown that aged heart muscle cells fed CoQ10 performed as well as younger cardiac cells.
CoQ10 inhibits the oxidation of LDL-cholesterol and may help to reduce the risk of heart disease.
