Features and benefits
- Convenient one a day dosage
How it works
There is a significant body of research to support the role of feverfew (and its sesquiterpene lactones - considered to be the main active constituents) in the prevention of migraine, and it has been found to produce a significant reduction in the number and severity of attacks experienced by sufferers, as well as to reduce the amount of associated vomiting.
The preventive action with regard to migraine appears
to be a combination of several mechanisms, including
inhibition of production of inflammatory compounds
(including prostaglandins, leukotrienes and thromboxanes),
inhibition of platelet aggregation, improved secretion
of anti-inflammatory compounds (such as histamine and
serotonin) and a tonic effect on vascular smooth muscle.
