Mode of Action
Helps to minimise Calcium loss and maintain Calcium and Magnesium levels to
maintain bone strength and function.
Indications
- Building strong bones
- Women's bone health before, during and after menopause
- Maintaining Calcium, Magnesium and Vitamin D levels for bone strength
and function
- Maintaining intake of Soy isoflavones
- Minimizing Calcium loss
Special Benefits of Nutra-Life Phyto Calcium Complete
Provides soluble Calcium Citrate which has 20 to 66% greater absorption and
bioavailability than Calcium Carbonate, together with Hydroxyapatite, the actual
matrix of bone plus the nutritional cofactors including Vitamin D3 and Magnesium
needed to assist the utilisation of Calcium in the bone remodelling process.
The soy isoflavones act as phytoestrogens to help maintain the hormonal balance
which is affected during and following the menopause and is a key factor
responsible for the increased tendency for women to lose more Calcium from the
bones during this period.
Precautions and Contra-indications
- Calcium supplements should be taken at least 2 hours apart from these
medicines including Fosamax (Alendronate) and other bisphosphonate drugs;
Oroxine (Levothyroxine) or tetracycline antibiotics (eg Minomycin,
Doxycycline), as Calcium supplements may form insoluble Calcium complexes
and inhibit absorption of both drug and Calcium.
- Because Iron absorption is impaired by Calcium, Iron supplements should
be taken at least 1 hour before or after taking Calcium.
